The branches and logs as a whole have so much more to offer than the beautiful grain of the wood. In this collaborative project, we embrace the wood in its natural state because of two reasons. First, for its textural quality: very rich and diverse. Second, for its symbolism: a source of life for many species. The sculpture parallels these points. It’s a raw structure that bears life.

About the Artist
Masha Semenenko is a fine artist in New York and 2017 SVA Graduate. She specializes in abstract, oils, bio art, drawings and depictions of the human body. Throughout her portfolio she incorporates elements of nature, reflecting her own philosophical value of being what we as humans naturally are, in the midst of a modern world.
